I was trying to find a video for brains and vats but I couldn't find any that would be enertaining and educational. So, I settled for just educational. If you want to learn about brains in vats, here you go.

  2. I found an interesting video discussing the Matrix and Descartes. I have not seen the Matrix (but have seen inception) so this was interesting to hear "behind-the-scene" guys talking about it.

Also, here is a pretty funny video that some random person made as a joke about Descartes. Enjoy!

  3. I found these videos that were related to Feminism. Two of them are interviewing people about what they believe feminism is and whether they are a feminist or not. I thought these videos were somewhat entertaining based on the answers that the people on the street in New York City were giving. The other video contains celeberties defining what a feminist looks like and what one really is.

This video was interesting to me because it got me thinking about what I really know and how I know it. These questions blow my mind when I start thinking about life, religion, and science.

Knowledge does not just show up, get curious, ask questions.

The second video is the Science of the Matrix and Knowledge

  9. I found this video about the current social media and how it is affecting current gender roles.

This video is about feminism and how it is evolving to appeal to the next generation.

Finally, this video outlines some of the current differences between men and women in the workplace and some possible ways they can be changed.

this video is kind of lengthy, but super interesting. It has to do with time travel, of all things. It offers an explanation of an alternative to time travel which involves bringing the past to us via computer sumulations, rather than us traveling back in time. However, it is thought that when this becomes possible, billions of simulations will occur at once, and therefore people would begin to question their existence.... am i one of the billions of sumulations or the single real me? Chances are in the favor of being a simulation.

I thought this related to class because it is an example of the senses failing us, a Descartes pointed out was possible... and it outlines the negative effects that these technological advances could stir up.

  14. Here's a video about men supporting feminism:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8jPZOTFyHI.

It references the media as encouraging violence against women. I definitely agree that the media does promote the idea that women are subordinate to men. Take these examples from Family Guy:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS2UsjBufqE&feature=related
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCNdizygMbs.

Family Guy and other similar shows tend to mock just about every social group, so they claim that no particular group (feminists, homosexuals, handicapped people, etc.) should take offense to their shows. Does mocking everyone equally make the criticism less relevant? Less cruel?

Finally, I couldn't find a video for this, but I figured I'd post these lyrics. The band is called Hot Water Music, and the song is called "Tradition." It's performed by men, which is a change from the majority of pro-feminist songs.

So you're the man, and you've been told what that means. Now you need to control, To fit the social role that's been issued to you by our culture.
So spread out, tradition bound, and find in time you'll grow no more.
Reverse that way and you will see the true point of thought before speech.

You are no better, and she is no less.
You're no born leader, and she is not your b****.

We've got to work to make a community of individuals, But we can't build on what they made. We've got to make your own place with a base of truth. Base that portrays equal says, with due respect and strength to break, Or cut down the lines that falsely divide one body from another and f*** the pride.

    Respect.
